Aircraft Inspector

Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Aircraft Inspector in Ft. Campbell, KY.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Will work under the URS Quality Assurance department conducting UH60 Reset Technical Inspections.

  • Inspect incoming contract units, forms and records and makes applicable entries for receiving into work process.

  • Provides continued surveillance inspection of all in process work. Implement quality control/safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications and local procedures.

  • Inspect/verify proper completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies.

  • Brief/debrief pilots and crew members assigned to functional test flights. Evaluate personnel, including verification of skills, training and experience.

  • Perform audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment and facilities.

  • Monitor timeliness and applicability of maintenance technical data and technical library.

  • Review maintenance source documents, inspection records, notes recurring discrepancies or trends and initiates appropriate action.

  • Manage material deficiency and technical order improvement program.

  • Review engineering investigation requests.

  • Initiate/review quality, technical and hazardous material deficiency reports; ensuring that reports are accurate, clear, concise and comprehensive.

  • Review aircraft, vehicle, equipment and explosive mishap reports, and evaluate for applicability.

  • Conduct aircraft weight and balance tasks.

  • Conduct safety inspections, training and drills.

  • Inspect incoming material for compliance with the purchase order or contract standard requirements, quantity and condition.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Other Responsibilities:

Training Will conduct classroom and hands on training on all topics/subjects related to the program. Professional speaking or prior instructor experience is desired.

  • High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum five (5) years actual and recent helicopter maintenance/QA inspection experience is required.

  • At least 1 year of Inspector experience on UH60 aircraft required.

  • Must have completed military aviation maintenance training or aviation maintenance technical school curriculum or possess an FAA issued A&P license.

  • Candidate must hold a current FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) or minimum five years experience as an inspector.

  • Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.

  • Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

  • Ability to pass and maintain a U. S. Government background security check.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

  • Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of general quality inspection procedures, maintenance forms, records, reporting system and management thereof.

  • Must have knowledge of the scopes and limitations of various categories of maintenance and their application to the contract unit. Must be capable of reading, interpreting and using complex blueprints, schematic diagrams and data tables.

  • Must be able to perform complete technical inspection of contract units and be able to determine that completed repairs comply with standards described in applicable publications.

  • Must be able to instruct and demonstrate correct maintenance techniques and procedures to subordinates.

  • Must have computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Must have experience in the use of the Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation (ULLS-A (E))

  • Excellent communications skills at all levels are a must.

  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested by Supervisor.

  • Ability to develop and maintain required relationships with customers, and the ability to work with technical staff to ensure successful results.

  • Able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on multiple assigned projects.

  • Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet component delivery schedule.

  • Strong team building skills and the ability to lead a team.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

UH60 Reset experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
